Manchester United Star Jesse Lingard’s Esports Side Teams Up With Sports Video Platform Recast

25 November 2021

Recast will give esports fans behind-the-scenes access to top esports talent including Sam Williams, Sam Carmody ‘Poacher’ and Lisa Manley

JLINGZ esports – the exciting UK esports organisation owned by Manchester United and England football star Jesse Lingard – has announced it will join with revolutionary sports video platform Recast, giving fans behind-the-scenes access to some of the world’s top gaming talent.

Lingard, who is one of the world’s best-known footballers, with more than 32-caps for his country, is making his mark in esports with the launch of two teams, competing across FIFA and Rainbow Six Siege.

Joining Recast will give JLINGZ esports’ growing legion of fans unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to star names including Rainbow Six team captain Sam Williams and professional FIFA player and EA commentator Lisa Manley.

The JLINGZ esports Recast channel already features videos and interviews with Lingard and some of his team, with the platform’s unique monetisation model also granting fans easy access to regular exclusive content, including gaming highlights and insights into what goes into being one of the country's leading esports players.

Lingard, 28, said: “I am excited to take this next step with team JLINGZ. Esports is fast-paced, competitive, and has a community of dedicated fans. I can't wait for them to see our amazing players in action and follow the team's journey through Recast.”

Andy Meikle, Recast founder and CEO, said: "We are delighted to be working with the JLINGZ team to bring fans closer to content from some of the best talent in esports.

“Particularly considering in-app currencies, micro-transactions and gamification are familiar to esports' audiences, we are seeing great success for our esports partners on Recast. Growing at pace, esports needs to establish a stronger, sustainable model, and we are thrilled to have forward-thinking rights holders and names like Jesse trust Recast to help to capitalise on its potential."

Direct-to-consumer platform Recast connects rights holders directly to fans, allowing an exchange of value through in-app credits called ‘Casts’.

Recast’s unique proposition means the business does not purchase any sports rights, following the success of other exchange models such as Airbnb and Uber in not owning supply but generating value through connection.

Recast is already working with several high-profile rights holders and sporting bodies, including British Curling and Queens Park Rangers, with each using its ground-breaking technology to help maximise earning potential from highlights, in-play clips and live events.
