Fans of one of the most exciting events in esports ­– Formula SimRacing (FSR) – will be able to watch all the action in the 2021 season live on ground-breaking sports video platform Recast. 

Recast has joined forces with digital motorsports channel The Race to bring all 12 rounds of the 2021 Formula Sim season direct to fans in a pioneering partnership that sees esports shown on the platform for the first time. 

FSR, in which drivers compete on some of the world’s most famous circuits in hyper realistic racing simulators, is one of the fastest growing forms of motorsport, with 10-time Grand Prix winning Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen recently saying he believes we may one day see a sim racer eventually become F1 World Champion*. 

Defending champion Michi Hoyner, of Burst Esports, won the first and second round of the championship on March 7 and 21 respectively, and is favourite to retain the title along with teammate Jernej Simonic.

Many are looking to the talented BS+ Williams duo Muhammed Patel and Petar Brljak to provide the strongest challenge as the championship moves to Germany for Round 3 on April 4.

Recast’s unique monetisation model will allow fans to watch for free, and everyone who signed up to Recast will receive 100 free Cast Credits which can be used to watch each race.

Recast is already working with several high-profile rights’ holders and bodies ­– including golf’s European Tour, the World Parkour Championship and Hibernian FC­ – each using its ground-breaking technology to help maximise their earning potential from highlights, in-play clips and live events ahead of its full UK launch this year.
